Among Rosehill’s most impressive monuments are the mausoleums that house the late very wealthy. The best of them are architectural gems that compress then-current design trends into diminutive packages. With minimal functions to support, these buildings are close to pure artistic exercises.
My favorite is the tomb of Darius Miller, the compact Egyptian revival classic built for the president of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.

Dozens of other fine structures are scattered around the cemetery, of course.

Rosehill also has a collective mausoleum, built in 1914, that is the most imposing structure on the grounds. It’s got some impressive sculptural detail on the exterior and some even more impressive artistic elements inside.
