This gallery shows a number of the carvings north and south of the 49 Street Beach House. There are many more carvings than shown here; these represent a selection of the most interesting. Some, like Frank the winged skull, are of straightforward artistic merit. Others, like the checkerboard, are simply fun. Some reflect social matters, like the biblical verse or the male/female symbol. There are nudes, a common theme along the lake, and many carvings that represent personal tributes or other private concerns.
This gallery shows the carvings at Morgan Shoal that include dates, in sequence.
