The area between the 49th Street Beach House and the lake is unique among surviving lakefront limestone structures in that the blocks were embedded to make a much more shallow path to the water than usual. Many of these blocks were carved with multiple names, creating a collective autograph collection that dates back to 1931. The final image, an aerial view, shows the relative integrity of this set of blocks from the Beach House going to the north.
